The Epiphany of the Lord

The Epiphany of the Lord, also known as the feast of the Epiphany, is a Christian holiday that celebrates the revelation of Jesus as the Son of God. It is traditionally observed on January 6th, but the date can vary depending on the liturgical calendar of different denominations.

The word "epiphany" comes from the Greek word "epiphaneia" which means "manifestation" or "appearance." The holiday commemorates the revelation of Jesus to the wise men, also known as the Magi, who followed a star to find him in Bethlehem. This event is recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, where the wise men brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the baby Jesus.

The celebration of the Epiphany also includes the theme of sharing the good news of Jesus with others. This can be done through adoration, prayer, and service. It is important for Christians to remember that the spirit of Christmas, or the celebration of Jesus' birth, should be present in their hearts and actions every day, not just during the holiday season.
