True Faith

Monday of the Second Week of Advent (B)

In today's Gospel (cf. Luke 5:17-26), we witness the profound healing of a paralytic man by Jesus. Faced with physical and spiritual paralysis, the man's friends displayed unwavering faith, lowering him through the roof to reach Jesus. This powerful scene reminds us of the transformative power of faith and the importance of community in our journey toward Christ.

Jesus, seeing their faith, forgives the man's sins, addressing the root of his paralysis. The Pharisees questioned Jesus' authority to forgive sins, but he revealed his divine power by healing the paralytic. This miracle invites us to examine our faith and trust in Jesus' ability to heal our spiritual infirmities.

Let us be like the faithful friends who carried their brother to Jesus. In our communities, we should support one another, fostering a faith that moves mountains and brings healing. As we approach the Eucharist, let our hearts be open to the transformative power of Christ's forgiveness and healing love.
